FAQs
Installing new stone countertops in your home is an investment into its value. New countertops, specifically in a kitchen or bathroom, have great resale value and can last decades if cared for properly.
We work with all of the major quartz and natural stone distributors in Denver such as MSI, Pental, Cambria, The Stone Collection, Granite Imports etc . We carry many samples from different distributors and can also help set up appointments for you to see full slabs in person.
Granite, soapstone, quartzite and marble are all durable, natural stone, cut directly from the earth. Each slab is one of a kind. These materials require a bit more upkeep compared to a man made product like quartz. Quartz is made by mixing quartz aggregate, dies and binders. The slabs are formed under intense heat and pressure, making them very durable and non porous.
Natural stones such as granite can stain. Sealers should be applied at least once a year to reduce the likelihood of staining. Quartz is more stain resistant than granite, but still susceptible to a certain degree. Most stains can be almost completely removed if necessary.
Although stones and quartz are extremely durable, they can chip with heavy abuse. Chips can be easily repaired by using colored epoxy with small pieces of stone aggregate mixed in.
With enough heavy usage, both manufactured stone and natural stone can be damaged. Although most natural stones and quartz are scratch resistant, they are not scratch proof. Light scratches can usually be polished away. Please review your product’s Care and Maintenance information for specific care instructions.
If you will be adding tile backsplash as well as new countertops, your new countertops should be installed first. If you need to remove old tile in order to install new, the demolition and drywall repair should be done before we measure for your countertops. This assures that there are no changes to your walls dimensions and that your new countertops fit as snug as possible against the wall.
We will store any counter depth remnants at our shop for up to 90 days after your install. If you would like to hang on to your remnants for future use, we can do so for a small storage fee.
Yes, we install almost anywhere within a 200 mile radius of the Denver metro area for an additional fee.
A seam is the point at which two pieces of stone are joined together. Unless very small, almost every job will have at least one seam. These are usually placed in an area determined by our head fabricator to optimize the usage of your slab.
